Sarah Rope and Thomas Frost


Sarah Rope was born on 1 March 1798.
Sarah married Thomas Frost on 14 March 1815 at Castlereagh Church. Thomas was a convict who arrived on the Indian in 1810. He was emancipated for his work conveying provisions with his own horse and cart from the Nepean River over the Blue Mountains to road-makers on the Bathurst Road, which was completed in 1815 under the supervision of William Cox.
Sarah and Thomas Frost raised a large family of 11 children. They farmed on the Nepean on a property called Woodriff's Farm. In 1828, Thomas was farming these 15 acres with 3 horses and 1 horned cattle, he had no assigned convicts at that time. He also worked as the local Pound Keeper.
Thomas died on 13 October 1862 and Sarah died on 17 August 1882. They are both buried at St Stephens Anglican Church in Penrith.



Rev. HENRY FULTON CONNECTION:

Thomas and Sarah's daughter Sarah Ann married William Barlow.
William and Sarah's daughter, Emily Barlow, married William Charles FULTON, one time Mayor of Penrith.
William Charles Fulton was the Great Grandson of Rev. Henry Fulton, through his father William Charles Fulton, then his grandfather John Walker Fulton, who was the son of Rev. Henry Fulton.
